At least four San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum members joined thousands of railroad history fans at Promontory Summit, Utah on May 10, 2019 for the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike ceremenoy which marked the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad. Spike150 was the organizing entity on the web.
As part of the weekend-long celebration, Union Pacific Railroad brought their recently restored "Big Boy" #4014 along with UP #844 to Ogden, Utah for a ceremony the day before, May 9, 2019.
